How it's Made

I used to do my artwork by laying my head next to the canvas or computer and balancing my right arm on my left hand to paint or use the mouse pad. My arms became to weak to do that and so I haven’t been able to do any art for about 4 years. I was no longer able to run the computer by myself either. In February I was finally able to get a head mouse which is a little camera that sits on top of my laptop and then I wear a little head band with a reflective dot on it. Where ever I move my head the cursor follows. Then I have a program called Keystrokes which is an on-screen keyboard with a dwell feature. When I have dwell turned on I just have to hold the cursor in the right spot for a short second and then it will click. This has allowed me to do art on the computer again and how I designed my christmas cards and a few other pictures using Photoshop. It reminds me of my favorite band U2’s song Miracle Drug because Bono wrote it about his friend who was in a wheelchair and couldn't talk yet Bono could see the songs in his eyes. One day the boy got a computer and he would wear a thing on his head which allowed him to type beautiful poetry. My motto in life is also from one of U2’s songs, “Walk On” because for me, even though I can’t walk, it means to keep trying no matter what obstacles life throws at you.
